EDGE Pre-Screener Form

This study will help us learn if online education about diabetes and exercise can help people with type 1 diabetes control their blood sugar better during and after physical activity. The study will last up to 6 months. During the study, you will answer questions online, wear a wrist device that tracks your physical activity, and share data from your diabetes devices (like a continuous glucose monitor or insulin pump).

Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups:

  • The Education Group will review educational materials about exercise and will be in the study for 3 months.
  • The Control Group will wait 3 months before reviewing the materials but will still answer questions and share during that time. Participants in the Control Group will be in the study for 6 months.
1. Are you at least 18 years old?

2. Were you diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at least one year ago?

3. Do you regularly use a Dexcom G6, G7, or a Medtronic Guardian 4 Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM)?

4. Are you physically active for at least 30 minutes, at least two days a week?
This is any activity that at least gets your heart rate up and makes you breathe a bit harder, but you can still talk. Some examples are activities like brisk walking, dancing, or cycling at a relaxed pace. Note: Your usual activity may be more intense than this.

5. Do you currently live in the US and plan to live in the US for about the next 6 months?
